Home_and_work

Going to work can be a painful experience if you’re in the wrong working environment. That’s why employment suitability is as important as eligibility if not more so. The new landscape of interviewing and working needs evolved thinking now more than ever. Businesses are becoming worldwide and not just regional anymore. Because of this employers can draw from a bigger pool of talent and go outside of a businesses’ neighborhood (or even its country). The psychometric test has leveled the playing field and made it possible to interview and assess talented people worldwide. With this insight employers are able to use this information and position their employees to succeed. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of an employee and their work habits as well as aptitude, empowers a brighter decision making process. Bringing a person into the workplace and giving them the ability to grow and evolve by mapping out a path that suits them will resonate in beautiful ways. The office is a second home no matter how you look at it.

Balance at the Workplace

Yin_yang

How do you face a group of people that are so completely different yet fit them all together in a work environment? That is the challenge of many employers, managers, and business owners. The workplace is a potentially volatile place to be. The worst mistake you can make is to not know anything about the players involved. The smart companies are trending toward using a psychometric test like that of Harrison Assessments which measure the four personally traits of an employee and how they balance out that individual. These methods are also known as the Paradox Technologies and can be instrumental in also balancing any workplace. By evaluating people in a deeper more comprehensive way you open up a plethora of knowledge that you may never access otherwise. With this new information you will be equipped to make thoughtful and informed business decisions that will benefit that company and its people.

Digging Deeper During the Interview

Psychometric_tests

Psychometric assessments can be generated from information ascertained through questions that are posed about psychological functioning and potential future behavior. When relevant questions are stated the answers can create a road map to personality and/or work related traits. When interviewing for a job there is very of this information that is actually conveyed. The type of personality traits you would see in the workplace are not always so apparent during a job interview. The psychometric test can dig deeper and evaluate the prospective employee, exposing a fuller more comprehensive picture of that person. This flushing out of the true personality is a highly effective way to be able to make informed well thought out decisions about hiring. The assessment test usually only takes 15-30 minutes, however there are tests that are longer but I wouldn’t recommend it for an interview setting. The 15-30 minute test is appropriate and extremely thorough as it is.

Psychometric Testing is the New Trend In HR

The huge new trend in human resources is the psychometric test. One of the superior tests available on the market was created by Dan Harrison of Harrison Assessments over 20 years ago. The test is a way to discover deep personality traits as well as aptitudes and motivation regarding specific jobs. The test results enlighten the employers really early on in the process. These tests don’t just help you to decide on hiring or not hiring…sometimes it’s this new found knowledge learned from the test results that will make you restructure how to use an employee. There may be all the indicators of a great manager and you might map out the job description and job goals completely differently because of this. This type of talent management will pay for itself over and over by empowering good decision making and setting the proper course from the onset. It also wins over the employee by recognizing their strengths and adjusting accordingly.

Should Employees Tolerate Psychometric Testing

Employee_boundaries

As the employers get more and more savvy about hiring, they invariably adopt more comprehensive hiring methods. The psychometric test is one that has huge advantages for the employer but how good is it for the employee? The concern might be that the information goes beneath the surface and can reveal personality traits. The reality is that an informed employer will actually be able to manage you or whoever they hire better. By better I mean they can play to your strengths, bypassing a huge learning curve. If the boss knows you thrive on collaboration and are naturally inclined toward leadership, you may find yourself fast tracked up the ladder. A good job fit is more assured with psychometric testing. Opening up to the process can only benefit all the parties involved.

How Do You Manage Your Business's Risk?

Navigating-with-psychometric-t

What makes people tick? We can work with people for years without having a grasp on what their interests are, what they’re passionate about, and basically their motivation for what they do. It may seem counter intuitive to hire someone without knowing anything about them outside of the résumé. The commitment to employ someone has consequences that can resonate to everyone in the workplace so I would say the stakes are high. To mitigate the risk, giving a psychometric test is an essential. There is really no other option that offer the insight and depth in such a short period of time. Conventional wisdom says that a business’s success hinges on how they manage their risk. That has never been more true than today.

Psychometric Test Exposing a Lifetime of Information

Thinking-test

The psychometric test is the easiest way to get a lifetime of information on a prospective employee in a very short amount of time. The more informed you are as an interviewer the better the results will be for all parties involved. The mishandling of a new employee can eclipse the cost of a test in lost revenue a thousand times over. It’s an approach that once tested is hard to do without.
